Ah. The ever popular lunch hour at school, which, in most cases, was students favorite part of their busy day. That was definately not the case for Brittany, though. Most of the time, she spent it trying to avoid the person who broke her heart into a million pieces who, lucky her, went to school here. She would probably do just about anything to stay away from him, but that was harder done than said. She decided against actually eating today and went to the vending machine to get something to drink. Putting a dollar in the machine, she punched in the correct numbers and out the bottom came a bottled water. It was really all she needed today, seeing as she didn't really feel like eating at all. Looking around the lunchroom, she spotted who she didn't want near her, so she decided to sit at an abandoned table in the corner. That way, there was no way she could even make eye contact with her ex. Once she sat down, she pulled a book out of her purse and placed it in front of her on the table. She then grabbed her water and opened it, taking a sip afterward. She then took in a deep breath and exhaled it softly. She couldn't wait until lunch was over, mainly because it was the only time of the day when she felt the loneliest that she could ever feel. Nothing makes you feel worse than sitting all by yourself at lunch, drinking a water, and reading a book. She wished that someone would come over and sit with her, but she really doubted that would happen. She hadn't talked to many of her friends today and they all seemed to be pretty content to where they were sitting at lunch. No doubt if she would have went over there to sit, they would have welcomed her with open arms, she just didn't want to be anywhere close to where her ex was, and their table was right by his. She really never understood why she let things get as bad as they did with that boy, but she had to get him off her mind. It was literally driving her crazy. She looked up from her book for a second and then took a drink of her water. Oh today was going to be a great day, she thought to herself sarcastically.
